Our doctors are highly skilled and experienced in performing a wide variety of surgical services, while always adhering to the strictest standards of safety and care. We use only the safest anesthetic products, and employ the use of cutting edge technology and advanced surgical techniques to provide our patients with the highest quality of surgical care available. For those surgeries that require specialized care, such as, neurosurgery and complex orthopedic procedures, we have close working relationships with several board certified surgeons, who perform the procedures right in our hospital.
If surgery is recommended for your pet, we won’t proceed until we’ve conducted a series of tests to ensure that he or she is well enough to handle anesthesia. This is especially important for pets that are considered to be “high risk”, such as those that are older or who suffer from existing medical conditions. Once we determine it’s safe to proceed, we’ll develop a customized pain management plan that is tailored to your pet’s specific needs. We want to keep your companion as comfortable as possible while also minimizing risk.
During surgery, your pet’s vital signs will be continuously monitored by our fully trained veterinary technicians using the most modern monitoring equipment available. We’ll make sure that your companion’s heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen and pain control levels remain right where they should be throughout the entire procedure. We’ll also take every measure to keep your pet comfortable during surgery, including the use of heated tables. Our doctors will work diligently to conclude the surgery as efficiently and effectively as possible.
When your companion’s procedure is complete, he or she will be gently relocated to our warm, quiet recovery area where our team will continue to monitor them as they begin to awake from the anesthesia. Once we feel it’s safe to send them home, we’ll reach out to schedule a pick up time. When you arrive, we’ll explain how everything went and carefully go over our postoperative care instructions. We want to help your pet recover as quickly and painlessly as possible so they can return to their normal, active lifestyle as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns about your pet’s surgery, whether it’s upcoming or has already been performed, we’re here to help. Give us a call any time!
