Sean Rodriguez, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Rodriguez’s early experiences with animals shaped his compassion and commitment to animal welfare. Growing up in Southern California, at the age of seven years old, he had the loss of his first Black Labrador Puppy to Parvovirus, this experience had a profound impact on him, driving his dedication to helping animals in need. His actions—rescuing strays, getting them proper medical care, and finding them loving homes—showcase not only a strong sense of responsibility, but also a deep empathy for animals who might otherwise be overlooked. The work Dr. Rodriguez has done with his family reflects a proactive and caring approach to animal rescue, emphasizing not just medical treatment but the importance of providing animals with safety and stability. His willingness to welcome animals into his own home when necessary highlights his personal commitment to ensuring that no animal suffers needlessly. Dr. Rodriguez’s dedication to animals, starting from a young age, led him to pursue a career in veterinary medicine after serving his country in the Navy. His academic path took him to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where his love for animals grew, and he met his future wife—an important milestone in both his personal and professional life. As a veterinary technician, Dr. Rodriguez worked hard to build experience, all while pursuing his goal of being accepted into graduate school. His efforts paid off when he was accepted into the prestigious University of Missouri, Columbia (MIZZOU!), where he honed the skills that would make him a compassionate and skilled veterinarian. Now, as a professional, Dr. Rodriguez is passionate about rescuing and treating sick animals, keeping the mission he started as a young child.
Outside of work, Dr. Rodriguez enjoys a variety of hobbies, such as yardwork, fitness, video games, and hiking with his wife and their two dogs. His household is full of love and energy, with two dogs and three cats (and possibly more on the way!). His love for food is another key part of his life. Having traveled to Spain, Costa Rica, and Japan, Dr. Rodriguez embraces the unique culinary traditions of each country and often attempts to recreate these dishes at home, with varying degrees of success, well and sometimes unsuccess…
His story showcases not only a commitment to his career but also a deep love for animals, family, and the joy of exploring different cultures through food.
